Description

Shiso Leaves Green is called ‘Ōba’ in Japan, and there is no fish dish imaginable that this product is not served with. Take a nice fresh piece of tuna. Dip it lightly in Japanese soy sauce and wrap a Shiso leaf around it. In one mouthful. A true taste sensation. The leaf is very mild in flavor but is definitely present.

Separately on a plate combined with a mixture of chopped fresh tuna and, for example, some finely chopped shallots with a drizzle of soy sauce gives something unique. A challenge for chefs to work with this product.

This very beautiful green leaf used to be imported from Asia. However, due to the large amount of pesticides needed there to do the cultivation right, the product became unimportable in Europe. By special request, we tackled this cultivation and now grow the leaves year-round in the greenhouse. We protect the plants from insects with other insects. The striking leaves have a very strong taste. They are good to use as decoration and the beautiful shape lends itself to multiple creative uses

Shiso Leaves are available year-round.
