Description
Dried bonito, also known by its Japanese name katsuobushi, is one of the essential ingredients for traditional Japanese cuisine. The bonito (skipjack tuna) used for these bonito flakes is caught in the Pacific Ocean and then smoked and dried in Spain, following the traditional Japanese katsuobushi production method.
To make a dashi broth, soak 40 grams of bonito flakes in 1,000 ml of hot water for 3 to 5 minutes, then filter the broth. You can also use these flakes in a quiche and as a topping on rice, a salad, tapas, a pizza or vegetables.
