Shiso syrup is made from the leaves of the purple perilla or shiso plant. This plant is related to mint and is also called Japanese basil. Purple shiso has a powerful and spicy flavor, ranging from sweet and tangy, with notes of cinnamon, cumin and citrus. Because of this nice full flavor combination, purple shiso is very versatile and you can use it in many dishes.
Perfect for a delicious mocktail or dessert.
