Description
Dashi is a Japanese broth, widely used to add umami to Japanese dishes. This dashi of excellent quality, contains no mushrooms and has a great bonito flavor. It is produced in the city of Makurazaki, known for its bonito.
Dashi is used in many Japanese dishes: miso soup, ramen soup, donburi, rice, chawanmushi (egg custard) and in stews such as Nikujaga etc. It can also be used for vegetable soups and risottos.
Soak a sachet of dashi in 0.5 liters to 1 liter of hot water for 1-2 minutes.
