Description
Zallotti Blossom is a decorative sprig with several small purple flowers of the African basil plant with a strong flavor of basil and mint. Especially decorative as a whole, but can also be used as individual flowers.
Perfect to pair with Italian or summer dishes, as an addition to a salad or as part of a cocktail. Tip: Zallotti Blossom provides a colorful surprise in a hot infusion.
The name Basil derives from the ancient Greek word ‘Basileus’ meaning ‘king’ or ‘royal. Basil is an herb used worldwide and many immediately make the connection with Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. That basil is also very widely used in Indonesian and Thai cuisine is less well known. In India, basil is a sacred herb and is offered to the Hindu gods. The flowers of the plant are mainly used to decorate rice and vegetable dishes and give them a flavor twist.
Zallotti Blossom is available year-round.
