Sea Fennel can be applied in a variety of ways. Because of its high concentration of aromas, the use of Sea Fennel should be used very dosed.
Balanced, the full flavor of asparagus comes out best. Sea fennel is also claimed to have diuretic and detoxifying properties as well as being good for digestion. However, scientific evidence for this is yet to be provided.
The plant is found from the beaches of the Black Sea to the North Atlantic coast. In the wild, the plant belongs to the endangered species and is therefore protected in many places. Sea Fennel is known to contain about 30 volatile oils with substances such as gamma terpinene (constituent of citrus fruits) sabinene (constituent of carrot) beta phellandrene (anise, celery, fennel) and methyl-thymol (thyme).
Sea Fennel is available year-round.
