Description
Enjoy the taste of authentic cherry blossoms from Kanagawa Province, Japan, all year round and wherever you are. These Sakura cherry blossoms are preserved in salt and ume plum vinegar after harvest, which allows them to retain their natural pink color and remain good for a long time. Each individual flower is carefully treated so that they retain their shape and beautiful petals. The flowers are edible and have a strong, natural pink color that looks beautiful as a decoration.
Traditionally, pickled sakura is used to make Sakura tea during celebrations, such as weddings. Now Sakura has found its way into many more Japanese and Western recipes; from Sakura onigiri to Sakura cookies, ice cream, cocktails and cake!
To remove most of the salt, soak the blossoms in a large bowl of water for up to an hour and then let them dry on a clean towel.
