Shibanuma was founded in 1688 (Edo period) in the provincy of Ibaraki (north of Tokyo). The current president, Mr. Shibanuma, is the 18th generation of Shibanuma since the company was founded.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Shibanuma maintains traditional methods for producing its soy sauce. In particular, they use wooden barrels, some of which date back to the Meiji era (late 19th century).
